Fixed.
Still seeing the error-
...Instance method call to method new requires an Object instance as
first argument

Thoughts?

Oops, I meant to say that the namespace should be
xmlns:MT="xalan://ManipulateText", not
xmlns:MT="xalan://ManipulateText.ManipulateText"
